My 9 year-old son and I have just dabbled with curb strips in the past. Today we got serious. Hit a strip in an early 1900's part of town for a few hours and rescued a 1918 wheatie, 1923 merc, 1944-D wheatie and 1951-D wheatie from the grave.
Also got a few other interesting items such as an old powerline insulator, two golf balls, a marble and a shows-up-as-copper whatsit. Also $0.56 in clad.
We found all these coins on the curve of the curb strip. I found that interesting.
HH all!
