I met up with Taylor (CZconnoisseur) this morning at a 1956 house to do some detecting together. After finding around 20 Memorial pennies and not a single wheat penny, I was wanting to move to a new site.

Finally I got a good sounding audio response and a VDI number of 89 that locked on like a pit bull dog. I called Taylor over to see what his Deus had to say about it. We both agreed it was a silver half. Even though it was a strong loud audio response, the audio was mellow with roundness on the edges.

Being very careful I cut a wide plug and popped a 1953 Ben Franklin Half Dollar that was about 4 inches deep. This is my 8th silver half for the year and my second Franklin. Talk about lucky!

Oh yeah I also found a Ike dollar coin. I put it in my vehicle since it wouldn't fit in my water bottle and I almost forgot about it. Taylor and I compared our detector readings on it as well. We thought it might be a silver dollar since it had a VDI 91 reading, but we agreed that it didn't have the smoothness on the edges on the audio response that silver coins produce. Damn we're good! I popped a 1971 Ike dollar at 4 inches deep.

This was my 68th hunt for the year and my silver coin total for the year now stands at 195. I only need five more by the end of June. It's doable!

My F75DST detector settings: 9.0, Sensitivity 68-70 (high EMI area), DE Mode, 4H Tones, Disc Level 0, GB 72.

Sounds like my last hunt. 100 bad targets to 1 good one lol. Congrats on those great finds! The Franklin is really nice. I've yet to find one of those.

Dang, your finds not only amaze me, but they also make me want to change the way I hunt. But I don't know what I could do different. Maybe it's the places I hunt? Anyway, congrats again on your finds!

Another day and another big silver for Beephead...yawn, lol! You're killing it!

Love how you can describe the audio. Now if I just had enough experience to recognize what you're describing.

Congrats on another fine hunt

And yet all those pull tabs  If I can figure out a way to determine gold from trash, I'd be a Zillionare.

I keep digging the trash in hopes of finding another gold ring.

Thanks! Finding wheat pennies keep me spurred on to keep looking and digging because the odds are high that silver coins are there as well. Finding Memorial pennies isn't too inspiring, but you just never know.

That's AWESOME beephead. Congratulations.
Thanks! I'm lucky!

Way to keep finding the silver and congrats on another half.
Thanks!

Nice. WTG!
Thanks!

Awesome find!! Congrats on the big Ben!
Thanks! I love finding Big Ben halves.

OMG Man you're tearing it up!!!! Congrats!!
Thanks! I set the bar way too high for me to do a repeat.

Thanks! Having good sites to hunt is helpful. I learned to slow down, grid search areas from different angles and dig when in doubt.

Thanks! I surprise myself at times. You're doing pretty good yourself.

I see you don't have an AT Pro...this is how you determine trash or GOLD!!!:yes::yes::yes::yes:
I had AT Pro and did very well with it, but there were a few minor things that I didn't like about it.

Oh Man! You are gonna need a bigger water bottle! I love those Bennies! Nice work again there Beep!

Thanks! I'm really wanting to find a silver dollar.

Thanks! I got that experience from using Tesoro detectors. Everyone should own a least one Tesoro.

Congratulations on the Franklin half. I found my first last week. Mine came up more like a quarter on the vdi.
Thanks! Congrats on finding a Franklin Half!

Only the collectors coins were silver. The ones in general circulation were the copper/nickel mix like all the rest of the clad. :(

You got that right! Not many of them were in circulation because they didn't work in coke and candy machines. I read that they're harder to find than silver dollars and silver halves.

I've seen just as much trash dug with ATP people as anyone else. The comment was really more towards the industry's inability to come up with technology that is able to tell the difference. Once I perfect that, I'll sell it and be rich.

I keep trying a lot of different detectors, but I seem to find more gold rings when using a Tesoro detector. That's mainly because I'm a beeping and digging. One day in the future they'll develop a detector that can tell the difference between a pull tab and gold ring. I'll probably be long gone by then. LOL
