A little Racer hunt Video

He makes it look easy that's for sure.

Anyone else note that the first target, the Badge, was a 'Plant'. The ground had already been dug, badge planted, recovers hole.

You know Argyle, I follow this particular gent. He hunts California mainly. He makes some amazing finds. He doesn't video all his hunts.

Why do you even bother looking at metal detecting forums, if most if not all is in your book "phony"?

You should be ashamed of yourself. I guess the rest of the finds were plants too, right???

You have any professionally made videos of yourself hunting you would like to share??

Talks cheap-you talk in superficial terms mostly about all subjects.

I posted this video, not mine, to maybe show some of the new owners of Racer. They might learn a thing or two. Or even spark some questions maybe for those who have them or are looking for help.

Hey I've got nothing to be ashamed about sharpshooter. I've never planted a target in my life to claim a nice hit.
I never bothered to watch the rest of the clip, because I've spent so many hours on the Racer I don't really need to hear one in action on YouTube. So I can't say if any other targets were planted.

I look at and post on a few metal detecting forums, not often though as I'm too busy most weeks, for the pleasure of talking detectors and detecting in general with others that love the game.

Don't take things too personally sharpshooter. I'm Australian, the British chained us on old Hulks and sent us off to a Convict Colony. We tend to call bs when we see it, it's a trait.

Oh, and as I've said before, the Racer is a really nice unit for pulling non-ferrous out amongst iron.
I just don't like to see them overhyped, or hitting planted targets for that matter.

So you are an Aussie who still continues to state that the guy in the video is a bullcrap artist who planted his findings?

Overhyped Racer - Can anyone provide an example of this? ANYONE?

We here it all the time around the forums but I have never seen an example of this - There is however a lot of overhyped nonsense regarding the Racer by the usual patriots & goobers -

Finally how in the h3ll can you be certain its a planted target?

By the way I am your neighbour here in NZ so I am used to how the Aussies are untrusting ;)

If you did not see the hype then you must have missed TNSharpshooters first 200 post on the Racer that week LOL!

Yeah Sycotoad.... The planting and hitting of that badge in this video.

OverHype number 117....and counting.

Differences of opinions are fine... lets keep these posts on track... I have deleted some of the nonsense these threads seem to start.

Howdy neighbor...

1. He not only knows where to head with the coil when he's 4 foot away at the start of the clip, the ground is already dug and roughly replaced.

2. The soil is very loose pre-dig due to backfilling.

3. The rear top of hole at depth is well rounded once target is located, pointing to a pre dug hole.

4. He pre-set moist soil to target back and front before planting, but forgot to take into account the surrounding soil should have had the same composition as the soil on badge and not loose.

5. The badge would have an 90% chance of turning in that ground, and the least likely scenario of it being found faceplate up was a mistake on his part.

6. The biggest tell however is in his voice, pay particular attention to his wording.

Now that I have looked at it again I am not sure - I am kinda the trusting type where I would not expect someone to do that but I know it happens - Thanks anyways cobber - There is one thing to me that stands out with these Turkish machines is the fact that the come complete - You dont have to mess about with getting coil covers, batteries etc after you get your detector & more importantly their service/support extends to both NZ & Australia ;)

Did you read what I wrote about members having a different opinion?

argyle has an opinion different than yours.

Never heard of this guy before. But I did notice the indentation over the first target, and the first thing I though was it was a plant or replant for the video.

I have no problem with this guy. I do with anyone who doesn't like my opinion on a forum where people are here to give their opinion.

And if he is planting his finds it just makes him look stupid. And the truth will reveal itself. I know a person who suddenly began to find great targets, then got caught buying them at the pawn shop. He hasn't found one since. And this is why we a skeptical.

I had to go watch the video, and I agree that video is SUSPECT at the very least. His reaction to the Badge find was definitely awkward, trying to act surprised but IMO his words were carefully chosen, and fake as Kim K.

Although I can't be 100% sure, it sure look like he was scanning over a plug. I tried probably 20 times to pause and rewind. The word "suspect" hits home with me.

It's possible he popped it out caught a glimpse of what it was and flipped the plug back in to video the the unveiling. Also which raises question in my mind was the use of digital editing to make it look like old film until he was into digging. This look, makes it harder to see details of the ground. There was half a swing of a normal look to the video, before he is into the plug, and it is there,I was able to see what appeared to be a plug.

Yep, I reckon that's one of great benefits of the Makro and Nokta units too Sycotoad....the quality of build is brilliant, (stock coil ears being the only exception, but Minelab and other brands suffer that too, it's no disgrace) and the coil package combo's are superb! Puts many other brands way of putting together a Detector Package to shame...

Yeah but I wish our Dealers would actually stock them full-time , along with accessory coils/skid plates ect.
It'd be nice to see a full-on serious no holes barred Distributor in Aus and NZ.

That's doesn't necessarily make my opinion correct Admin.

We are all grown men here, and we can jibber jabber on with no need for interference by officialdom. Make yourself a nice cup of coffee and join in relaxed.

He seems to know what he is talking about though -

They also bring a meridian of useful information to the forum -

Something a few members here lack -

Others simply have issues with him however those people dont appear to bring anything intelligent into the debate except for childish one liners, pictures & youtube links all in an effort to insult another member

All for ???????

Because they use a different brand of metal detector and like it?? = Amazing

All I will say, the gent in the video. He makes good videos. I don't have a camera or I would do some. That may change soon. Also if anyone looks at the gent's channel you will see he hunts relics/coins etc. His videos relflect this. He digs iron relics as well. He is (was) (still is) a big Deus follower, however the Racer has got his attention in iron as of late. I think he comments in the video.
Also California where he hunts, drought stricken. Soil don't look usual. I've lived in Az desert so I know. I've never said the Racer was perfect, but the detector does do some things extraordinarily well for the price paid. If the Nokta CoRe/Makro Racer are only warm up detectors to come from them. All I can say is the competition had better be on their game.

I can't prove this, but there is a chance this new coil and version XP is working for the Deus may be tied to the Turkish machine performance. Key phrase, "I can't prove."

Will the detector satisfy everyone??? Does any detector!
Will it perform in iron?? You bet!!
Will I get rid of mine?? Certainly not!!

Whatever folks feel about the Turkish units, if the only thing that they ever do is bring about new technology/engineering to other manufacturers, then we all stand a chance to benefit. And this could be said about any manufacturer/detector.

Things in the detector making world are moving faster today I think than say a year ago.
Competition is fierce and this is all good.

We have a rule here that all members can discuss detectors... whether good or bad... so if someone doesn't give a good review of whatever detector brand he used its allowed without fear... try that on most large forums and see what happens. Believe it or not the holy grail of detectors still hasn't been made...

I Believe if you will read you see I stated detector does some things extraordinarily well and is not perfect. So I think I already know it's not the holy grail. One will never exist IMO.
My observations as far as some of the communications on this forum. And it seems Mr Flynn and I see eye to eye on this.

Some folks here have a tendency not to add information to threads, instead they post stupid you tube clips meant as attacks-with their it seems thought out humor. The same folks IMO short circuit the communicative/learning process. I see where the mods here have to it seems follow behind them and clean up after them like pigs. I witnessed this just yesterday and never did really see a reprimand or any other proper action. Now it was confirmed on this forum, folks shouldn't be talking about a detector they haven't run. If this is the case how come some folks here are allowed to comment on a post by an Op where they were asking about 2 detectors-looking for strengths/weaknesses it seems between the 2. And folks were stating one was better than the other. How would they know????Makes absolutely no sense to me.
So I guess the mods had better keep the brooms and dust pans handy-cause you're going to need them if these folks stay around.
