So I've been just watching some different youtube videos, more specifically the Dirt Fishin' America guys, and I've noticed they're all decked out head to toe in Minelab gear.

Now I don't know for sure that they're sponsored by Minelab, but let's just say that I wanted to look into it.

How does a guy get sponsored by a Metal Detector Manufacturer?

you have to have some bada$$ skills like Dr. Tones and the rest.

I mean it looks like they just hunt good locations. I've never seen them do anything really special.

But there's got to be a way to get the big production companies to let you detect for them..

1)Marketing....You need to approach them and explain how being a sponsor for you will help them with sales.

2)Business Plan....Just like starting a new business. You have to convince them why you are a good investment. These guys probably made some awesome video, and approached them with their sales pitch.

I would contact their marketing department, and ask them what it would take. Be careful with your approach. I'm sure a lot of people do it just to get free stuff. I run my own business, and have been very successful at getting my products and services offered by major suppliers. They have to get some benefit though, or they won't even talk to you. Good Luck.....

Research is key, some guys just have better access to sites with great potential, while some of us don't. Luck does come into play, just like everything else in life you can study maps and theorize where the best spots to detect are, but it's luck that gets you over the target since not everything is lost where is should be. I feel that any one of us with access to those sites, and fair knowledge of our detectors, could find what they find. Basically find good sites, find good targets, and do a good job at promoting yourself.

Great idea. You pretty much gotta sell their product for them then, make it worth their while.

Hmmm This is Do-able I think, especially with a strong supportive forum to interact with.

Funny thing is, that sounds like the guys that never win ice fishing tournaments when they are talking about the guys who always win...

<*)))>{

ive been in many fishing tournaments in my life and i always win, hell ive won more fishing gear in tournaments than ive probably bought otherwise. first tournament i was even in was when i was 4 or 5 won a fishing rod and like $2000 it was a kids fishing tournament of course. won it with a pound and a half bluegill which is a really big bluegill.

Wanted to submit for their find of the month club. Then I realized I use an ACE 350. Disqualified. :(

Garrett has one though, maybe I'll get in on theirs.

Tell them you used your CTX3030, and your wife was using hers too, and your 18 kids were all using their CTX3030s too! Also mention that you have a STMR array mounted on your family station wagon, for those 'just in case' moments.

My nephew won a Redfish fishing tournament fishing with us and he slept the whole time:lol: He won Jr. Angler for being in the boat. His check was bigger than ours

haha I wish I could "Like" this comment.

Although, they'd definitely know I was lying.

Nobody drives station wagons anymore. I'd have to say either a Minivan or an SUV! :p
