Well that was the plan but after two days of digging deep stuff with the DF had to have a rest day on the last day, (wasn't digging that much iron either) and use the Excal. I could have just dug the shallower targets but the way the DF sounds off I just can't help myself

After my last find took 3 days off work and went on a road trip scouting out some beaches just to see how much of the past replenishment has moved. Found out it hadn't  well the light fluffy sand is gone leaving behind a thick layer of black sand with light junk on top and below that even more sand.
Hard work for the Excal but good going for the DF.

Anyway started of like a rabbit on steroids and finished like a geriatric sloth

It seemed like I'd just hit the water and bang there was a nice looking 18K ring in the scoop, real fresh looking a great way to start, but over did it after that hunting for 7 hours digging some deep holes finding silver rings and crusty coins till I couldn't dig anymore and had to check in to a hotel to recuperate. (One lady at the beach handed me an old can and thanked me for cleaning up the beach, I said "your welcome". My idea of cleaning up the beach is a little different to hers)
Around 8pm got to thinking about what there could be waiting for me on the dry and wet so back to the beach, hunting for another 4 hours with the Excal scoring a good amount of coins then headed back to the hotel for some R&R.

The next morning had to force myself to get up, the tide wasn't waiting  after a quick refill at the golden arches hit the water with the DF taking it nice and easy didn't find that many crusty coins most were fresh but did score a fresh nice looking tiff with some other silver and called it a day after 6 hours in the water. Thought about hitting the wet and dry that night but the body wasn't having a bar of it

Check out time came way to soon and back on the road again to a beach I'd had my eye on for a few years but just never made it into the water to check it out. Had to have a rest from digging deep stuff even if it meant missing the old good stuff so hit the water with the Excal going for fresh drops finding hardly any trash and only 4 pull tabs (the past two day's I'd been overwhelmed by the things) , did find my first i-phone but well and truly trashed.

Will have to hit this beach with the DF next time.

All in all a great 3 day trip with the DF getting the lion's share of the good stuff and the Excal working well in difficult conditions

And last but not least a BIG thanks to White's for their unwavering support and phenomenally fast service over the years, very much appreciated.

Thanks for viewing.

Great road trip 18k. Whatever doesn't kill you...;). As usual, you're an inspiration to all of us to get out. Some pretty big silver there too. How may grams? Edit; oh I see now - 91g:grin:

Great hunts! I could never hunt 7 hours here on Okinawa unless it was dry sand hunting! I love that 18k ring.

I have my first detecting only trip in a few weeks. I am flying out to a island to hunt from the 19th-23rd by my self. No wife or kids, only hunting. I can't hardly wait.

:tiphat: to the 18K marathon man and :congras: on that beautiful ring. At 66, 4-5 hours would be my limit but you did well toughing it out.

Hey G, Anyone can hunt 3 days straight when they're finding the kind of treasure that you are! Seriously, beautiful finds. I've also had people thank me, even bless me, for cleaning up the beach! HH!

What an awesome hunt G... that 18k ring really stands out against the silver... where are the beach-goers over there are much cleaner than the slobs who visit ours over here

Thanks all, yeah G&K man that bracelet had me working to get it out took forever to dig down to it and then it sounded too big to be anything real good but I hate walking away from targets that deep
The silver at the back I first thought was junk but that turned out to be a bent up silver bangle. It's been bent into a heart shape.

Was that mostly wet sand? How many bottle tops did you find?

No RB only hunted the dry and wet for four hours the rest of the time was in the water. Didn't find a lot of tin bottle tops maybe 4 or 5 for the whole trip and around a dozen or so aluminum screw tops in the water but 20-30 on the dry. Hate to think how many pull tabs I dug
