Well, I went, and survived. While Tony Bennett may have left his heart in San Francisco, I left a bunch of my money at the Hara Arena.
What I liked:
Interesting forums
I could try the Begali key before I bought it
An exhibit of German Enigma machines (I bought a book and the author signed it)
Plenty of stuff to look at and buy
What I didn't like:
The cheeseburger and bottle of lemonade cost me $8.00
The cups of Coke were $3.50 each
The show opened late on Friday, opening day, causing a large crowd
The bathrooms make you long for the ones at the local gas station
The big ticket items I came home with were the Begali Magnetic Traveler Light, and a CommRadio CR1a SDR receiver. I did get plenty of little things, and the ARRL was giving out nice "challenge coins".
I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Fairborn. The F3 tornado missed us, and struck one town over in Cedarville.
Whether or not I go next year depends on money. I had it this year, I don't know about next year yet.
