I bought one of these used off of a friend who needed money to send his KX3 back for bug fixes. It works a lot better than it looks like it ought to. Before it started raining on Saturday, I managed to get a station in Colorado, an air show in Florida, and an anniversary special event station at GA Tech, all using 5 watts. I had to break through a pileup for the GA Tech station. Then it started to rain, so the fact that the antenna goes up and comes down in about 5 minutes was a major plus.
If you are limited by housing covenants, or just have no space for an HF antenna, I would definitely recommend the Alexloop.
