ks_coyote,
A few years ago (in 2014), I found the same size 9.6 volt NiCad battery pack on Amazon that I needed to replace the one in my XLT's rechargeable battery holder. It was $19.95. I ordered it and rebuilt it myself. You have to slice thru the seal that keeps the slide-out tray-cover in place before you can get the old NiCad set out. Worked fine and still holding a good charge. I always carry the spare battery tray with 8 alkalines, just in case.
