Made this so we can discuss the group hunt, places, etc.
Lets try to find a large field (fairground, farmfield, whatever) that has not been hunted before (of course thats every detectorist's dream
)

Harvey High School in Painsville Lake County will be torn down in the spring, it was built in 1922 I found a 1939 Half Dollar by the walkway, I haven't had time to detect the whole place, maybe you guys could all go before the weather gets to cold.

!!!!, that is far away for me - I'm in NW OH but spend time now and then in the Mansfield area. Some kind of a group hunt would be awesome but I will probably have to stay out of this one since it must be close to a 3 hour drive...

someplace more central would be nice. Mansfield may be a nice area. Anyone around there?

Wellsville Ohio has it all. Old playgrounds,ballfields,Ohio river,and the beaver creek state park"free permit to detect"with old locks and ghost towns.I have lived in this area all my life and have never seen anyone with a detector around here.I just started this hobby and love it.My nephew and I found thirty seven dollars in clad our first day at one of the old parks.Police are glad to see a hobby that is worth while, because high unemployment and drugs have hit this area hard.

I just looked at the parks system on mapper.acme.com and have found numerous sites using the topo map. Just look at all the buildings that aren't there anymore. Pretty cool spot you have there!!!

Hey Dinger...
...how does that topo stuff work?
I went in on your link looking around a little bit on areas where I have hunted. Is the topo-thing old maps of the same area?
I see differences in streets and park lines and so on, but I do not really understand it.

that beavercreek park sounds good there kireta! too bad it is such a drive for my own sake. first when I saw beaver creek I was thinking what?! since i lived down in dayton in an area called beaver creek and MD was not allowed in the parks but then i google mapped it and realized....north east!
