My father was given a very special ring by his father when he became a teenager almost 50 years ago. This ring was given to my grandfather when he left his home country of Belize and came to the states to serve in WWII. It was a fusion of wedding bands of his parents. My father, being irresponsible and only 13 years old at the time lost the ring while swimming in a pond near his home.
Does anyone have any suggestions of how to go about looking for this ring? A company or group to hire? Or perhaps equipment I could rent?
As I've said, it's been more than 50 years. Although my dad searched earnestly for the ring as a boy, he never could find it due to the murky waters. There is even the possibility that someone else has found it after all this time. I guess I'm really just wondering what my chances are of recovering it. Any advice would be much appreciated.
